About Devin

I work at the intersection of tax, compensation, and the people whose lives the numbers actually change.

Portrait of Devin W. Blackburn, wealth advisor and speaker

Devin W. Blackburn focuses her wealth advisory practice on complex planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, including founders and entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and artists. A former corporate tax attorney, she advised public and private companies on tax planning, complex transaction structuring, and IRS controversy and dispute resolution — experience that gives her clients a level of business insight uncommon among advisors.

Most notably, during her tenure at J.P. Morgan, Devin reimagined the firm's Executive Compensation Advisory practice, building it into a resource serving Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, and Private Bank clients on equity-linked compensation, executive compensation plans, and long-term plan design.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, she served as Senior Tax Counsel and Director of Executive Wealth Advisory at Northern Trust, where she developed the Executive Wealth Advisory persona and advised wealthy families on wealth transfer and the impact of tax legislation, helping set the strategic direction for advising corporate executives and insiders throughout their C-suite careers.

A hallmark of Devin's practice is translating technical tax and compensation concepts into plain English to drive better decision-making. She is a frequent thought leadership author and a sought-after guest speaker and panelist, sharing actionable advice and best practices on executive compensation, wealth transfer, and tax strategy.
